REUSS Gelenkwellen: PrestaShop relaunch with SEO and Google Ads.
When REUSS Gelenkwellen came to us, its online store had suffered a hack and an unsuccessful relaunch. We rebuilt the PrestaShop store, improved product search and restarted SEO and Google Ads. Since January 2026, we have worked together to grow online sales.

REUSS Gelenkwellen: replacement parts for workshops and private customers
REUSS Gelenkwellen GmbH manufactures and sells prop shafts, drive shafts and suitable replacement parts. Alongside its established trade business, it is developing its B2B and B2C online store for Germany and Austria.
Its range of around 500 products includes:
- Prop shafts and drive shafts for numerous vehicle makes and engine types
- Universal joints, joint kits, centre bearings and prop shaft bearings
- Prop shaft repairs as an additional service
The starting point: lost visibility after a store migration
REUSS already had a functioning online sales channel: its former WooCommerce store generated regular orders. The system was then hacked. The agency at the time recommended moving to PrestaShop and carried out the migration. After the relaunch, however, many orders stopped coming in.
When we reviewed the store, we found problems in several areas:
- Missing redirects: old store URLs did not lead to appropriate new pages.
- Lost SEO content: content pages and metadata had not been fully transferred.
- Technical errors: slow loading and incorrect shipping calculations made purchasing harder.
- Unreliable product discovery: categories were missing from the menu and product filters did not work properly.
Organic visibility had fallen sharply. Google Shopping and Google Ads also generated very few orders. In November and December 2025, the store sometimes went several days without an order.
Mr Reuss contacted us during the Christmas break. He had found us through our PrestaShop expert status and wanted to make a fresh start with a specialist ecommerce agency.
PrestaShop relaunch: a new technical foundation
We started in January 2026. The store had to keep running, so we fixed the most urgent problems in the existing system. In parallel, as a PrestaShop agency, we built a new store in a separate test environment. This let us repeat the data migration and check functionality before switching over.
The work included:
- A new PrestaShop installation and a fresh migration of master data
- Transferring and checking required store functions
- Moving hosting and reviewing technical workflows
- Joint testing with REUSS and a second-person review
The new store went live around the end of January 2026. We manage changes through GitHub. The hosting provider creates daily backups and keeps them for 14 days. We use the same approach for comparable store migration projects.
Product search and navigation for the right vehicle parts
Customers buying vehicle parts need to identify what fits their vehicle quickly. We therefore improved product filters, categories and mobile presentation. Our conversion optimisation work included:
- Filters on the homepage and relevant category pages
- Reorganised navigation and clearer product views
- Clear pricing and differentiation between trade and private customers
- Visible ProvenExpert reviews to support decisions
- A prominent enquiry form with vehicle registration document upload when customers cannot find the right part
- WhatsApp as an additional contact option
SEO relaunch: redirects, content and internal links
For the SEO relaunch, we first collected old store URLs still present in Google’s index. We developed a PrestaShop module to redirect these addresses to appropriate new pages.
We then continued improving SEO for the online store step by step:
- Keyword analysis, including prop shaft repair searches
- Revised category descriptions and new content
- Added metadata and internal links
- Created a new sitemap
- Provided REUSS with specific guidance on product description structure and formatting
The SISTRIX history shows visibility recovering after the decline, although values fluctuate. This analysis covers the whole reuss-gelenkwellen.de domain, so the trend does not relate exclusively to the store.
Google Ads and Shopping: making product data useful again
Once the technical foundations were in place, we rebuilt Google Shopping and Google Ads. Our ongoing Google Ads management complements work on organic visibility.
- We reconnected Google Merchant Center with Google Ads.
- Channable automates the product feed.
- We created new campaigns and continue managing them.
- In parallel, we develop store functionality and SEO content.
We worked on technology, SEO and advertising at the same time. The contribution of each individual measure to growth cannot therefore be quantified separately.
The results: more orders and fewer obstacles
Sales began increasing in January while we were addressing the initial problems. Across January to August 2026, monthly orders were approximately 489% higher and monthly revenue approximately 463% higher than the November–December 2025 average. These figures include the initial rebuilding period.
REUSS also sees the difference in daily operations:
- Fewer enquiries caused by technical store problems
- Fewer questions from customers unable to find the right part
- Less time spent handling these enquiries
- More orders and online revenue
We also consider August a good sales month. Orders fell by 17.5% and revenue by around 16.5% compared with July. The holiday period may have contributed, but we did not measure its impact separately.
We want to show the development over several months. The comparison therefore includes all complete months from January to August, not just the particularly strong June. September was incomplete when the analysis was prepared.

Looking ahead: further developing online sales
We continue supporting REUSS with PrestaShop development, SEO and Google Ads. A separate Austrian store is planned next. Together, we want to expand online sales and make ordering the right parts even easier for workshops and private customers.
